Watch full films before trailers. Reels are edited to impress in ninety seconds. The full film shows you pacing, sound and whether a videographer can hold a story across an entire wedding day.

Listen to the sound. Vows and speeches are the parts of a wedding film couples rewatch most. Ask how the videographer records audio: microphones on the officiant and the couple, a feed from the DJ or band for speeches, and a backup recorder.

Ask how visible they'll be on the day. Some crews shoot from a distance with minimal direction. Others are far more present, with staged shots and prompted moments. Neither is wrong, but it's worth knowing which you're hiring before the day arrives.

Clarify what's included. Hours of coverage, a second camera operator, drone footage, raw files and delivery timelines vary a lot between studios. Get these details in writing rather than assuming.

Check that they know the lake. A Lake Como wedding often involves boat transfers, villas with public opening hours, music curfews and early sunsets behind the mountains. The range of studios on Lake Como

Lake Como attracts filmmakers from all over Europe, and the market covers a wide range of styles and budgets. Across the market, wedding videography on the lake typically starts at around €3,000, with many international couples spending €4,500-8,500 and high-end destination packages going higher.

At the top end, some internationally known studios work at a very different scale. Plus Two Films, a documentary-style duo based in Amsterdam, states on its website that most couples invest from €35,000 for its multi-day wedding coverage. Caputo Films, founded by Marco and Angelica Caputo and based in Italy, works with a larger team of cinematographers and editors and has filmed weddings on Lake Como and around the world. Lumen Wedding Films is another established studio working in this part of the market. Studios at this level usually offer larger teams, more equipment and longer post-production.
